MI5 handles domestic cases, like the FBI in America, while MI6 is Britain's international arm of intelligence, like the CIA in the US. MI6 just recently established that Hezbollah has been "equipped with state-of-the-art Iranian missiles," he reported. Britain is concerned that if those missiles are fired, it could bring out "sleeper agents" to act in the UK, and because of situations like this, MI5 and MI6 now work closely together, almost as though they were one agency, he explained.
